Day 21

"Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end." Isaiah 60:20

My Almighty Father,
You have the power to control the sun and the moon. (You were their creator.) You are the everlasting light.

There are times I feel like I'm in a tunnel and I can barely remember what light looks like or what it feels like to have simple joy. In those times of darkness, help me to focus on You. Help me to know that You are there, even though I can't see You.

Support and comfort my friends as they suffer losses like miscarriages, illness, and death. I feel so helpless when they are hurting. Would You shine Your light in their lives? Help them to see beyond their loss. Help them to trust You with their hurt and confusion. Help them to know that You have heard their cries of anger and doubt. Help them to know they are not being punished. Help them to know that You love them and that You are waiting to hold them -- that You are a good Father.

Thank You, God, that You are our rock and healer, and that someday You will bring our mourning to an end... that You have promised us this.
