Day 30

Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. John 6:11

Creator God, You multiplied the loaves and fishes. You perform miracles that You alone are capable of. All that is, You spoke into being. You are mighty and powerful... You are God alone.

Help me to experience Your mighty power today. Show me that You are capable of more than I could ever ask or imagine. Amaze me, Mighty Father. And when I see Your power at work, help me to be grateful for it and give You praise.

I pray for those who feel that they haven't much to be thankful for right now. Perhaps they've lost a child, a job, or their health. Maybe they are lonely... are weary and broken and their dreams lie as dust at their feet. Father, fill their hearts with inexplicable gratitude, for You are still good in their midst of their sorrow.

I give You thanks for Your almighty power and kindness.

Thank You for feeding those five thousand men on that hill two thousand years ago. You didn't have to, but You knew they were hungry and You fed them. Thank you for the opportunity we have at Community Suppers to feed those that are hungry. May they know Your love for them just as you showed Your love for those on that hillside so long ago. Thank You for showing Your love to each of us every single day.
