"Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.” You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy... Psalm 30:10-11
My forever Father,
I know that You are a God of reconciliation and redemption. And I know that You are capable of much more than I could ever ask or imagine.
Would You be my helper today? Would You be my comfort? It's so easy to stay in the depths of sadness and even self-pity, but I know that You can draw me out of the darkness--You are Light. Would You turn my sadness into joy--it's in You I find joy. And would You help me see beyond my grieving to hope and purpose for tomorrow--my present and future are in Your hands.
Please protect my family and comfort their hearts, as well. Show them what joy is... sometimes we forget, and sadness becomes like a comfortable old robe we put on. Help us to take off that robe and let You clothe us in joy.
Thank You that You only want the very best for us, and You won't leave us alone in our grief, sorrow, and misery.
In Christ's precious name I pray this, Amen.
