Day 5

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads out the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. Psalm 68:5-6

Dear God, You are the Father to the fatherless. You provide for those without a family and defend the weak as their own father would.

When I feel defenseless, would You please remind me that You are my Father and my Protector, and that I am never alone.

Please care for those who are weak and afraid and feel forgotten. Show up in their lives today and remind them that they are Your children and You are their heavenly Father and that they will never be out of Your sight or outside of Your love.

Thank You for my friends and family at Community Christian and for my eternal spiritual family that can never be taken away. There are so many lonely people in this valley—so many that believe they are truly alone. Father, we want them to know that they are not alone. We want them to know that You are their Forever Father and that they can have an eternal family. Draw them to our campuses so that they can hear Your words of love and mercy and freedom. Help us to open our arms to them. Speak through the worship music and the pastors. Touch their hearts, God. Help them to find their way to You.

I pray this in the name of Jesus, amen.
