Godly Living is Evangelistic

Main Point

The beginning of a new year is a great time to set goals for yourself. It is good to reflect on spiritual areas where you want to be more disciplined or see growth. Peter reminds us that spiritual growth and improvement begin in our hearts and it works itself out in our actions. When our actions reflect the Spirit’s work in our hearts it points others to Christ. Effective evangelism comes from Godly living.

Discipline Inwardly

• We can abstain
• Inward lusts war against the Spirit
• The best defense is to: flee immediately

Discipline Outwardly

• Our actions are to be beautiful for others to see
• Godly living is a part of our testimony
• God gets glory when others come to know Him
