Contribute: Serving in Faith

Lesson Description

This course emphasizes the act of contributing your time, resources, and talents to further your mission in your community and the world. It explores the call to serve and make a difference in the lives of others. The mission of Community Christian is to: Help people find their way back to God. When we connect with God and others we have a mission to help others find Jesus too.

The Call to Contribute

• Understanding the biblical call to serve and contribute
• Colossians 3:23-24 - Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.
• Matthew 25:40 - The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'

Exploring Opportunities for Service

• Identify areas where you can make a meaningful impact.
• Bible Verse: Galatians 6:9 - "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

Time, Treasure, and Talents

Contribute your time, treasure, and talents to impact the world

• TIME: Our goal is to have every member serving
• TREASURE: Start by giving something cheerfully and consistently Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. - 2 Corinthians 9:7
• TALENTS: Reflect on what you have accomplished, your abilities, your aptitudes (gifts). You can use these to help further the mission of Jesus in Silicon Valley and around the world.
  1 Peter 4:10 - Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms.

2. Can you share a specific moment when you felt a deep sense of fulfillment through giving your time, resources, or talents to others?
3. What practical steps can you take to increase your involvement in serving and making a positive impact with CC or in your community?

Action Step

Select a ministry that resonates with your values and interests. Commit to volunteering or contributing your resources to support their mission over the next few months, and reflect on the impact it has on both your faith and the mission of Community Christian.
